BMI ANNOUNCES PRESTIGIOUS TRAILBLAZER HONORS:
Organization salutes Mighty Clouds of Joy, Pastor Marvin Winans and Vanessa Bell Armstrong

BMI, an American performing rights organization, will honor gospel greats Vanessa Bell Armstrong, the Mighty Clouds of Joy and Pastor Marvin Winans at its Annual Trailblazers of Gospel Music Awards Luncheon on Friday, January 11th at Rocketown, 401 6th Avenue South in Nashville.

The invitation only celebration will host gospel music's premier songwriters, recording artists and music industry executives.

Vanessa B. Armstrong is a contemporary and traditional gospel vocalist. She first came on the gospel scene with her early 1980s debut on Onyx titled, "Peace Be Still." A Detroit native, Vanessa is a mother of five. She has generated seven Grammy nominations and appeared on Broadway. Her latest project is "Walking Miracle."

The Mighty Clouds of Joy are legendary with 48 years of spreading the gospel through song. They have recorded and released 35 albums and have won three Grammy Awards. The legends have performed on the same stage with the Rolling Stones, Paul Simon, Aretha Franklin and James Brown. They have even performed, at invitation, at the White House.

Pastor Marvin Winans first came to the gospel scene as a member of the family quartet The Winans. This songwriter, vocalist, keyboardist and producer recently released a solo project. As producer his credits include Vanessa Bell Armstrong. He is also an active pastor.
