Teirrah McNair

Teirrah McNair, who has been writing Gospel stage and videos for over 30 years publishes, “Lucille Nadine Alexander’s Birthday,” a series of children’s books.

McNair is most known for her Gospel comedy video, “Medicine for the Heart,” which won her the coveted W.A.V.E. Award and was described by Oakland Tribune columnist Brenda Payton as a “hilarious video that fills the prescription for laughter.”

A former youth pastor and educator, Teirrah discovered years ago that custom fitting dramas to the at risk children she taught as the best means of insuring their success on stage. She penned over 25 short plays for children as artist in residence in California and Alaska.

Audiences will remember the critically acclaimed Dirty Laundry, as well as Faith Walker and Hiding Out. Both Dirty Laundry and Hiding Out featured a precocious child in the quirky lineup of characters, named Lucille.

“Lucille Nadine Alexander’s Birthday,” is the first in a series of books that will provide a role model for outspoken youngsters who have something important to say. McNair feels that the tremendous challenges children face today, require that the children voice their concerns. The character Lucille will lead the way.
