Dallas entrepreneur couple James and Valder Beebe were inducted into the 2007 National and Texas Black Marriage Hall of Fame by The Alliance for North Texas Healthy Effective Marriages (ANTHEM) coalition and The Marriage Day Marriage Hall of Fame.

James and Valder began their courtship with a sweep-you-off-your-feet romance here in Dallas.  

“When we first met, James had been visiting his brother but he had to return to Lansing, Michigan, after our two glorious weeks together,” said Valder.  

Valder recalls how James continued to think about her after returning home.

At home James called daily, playing piano and singing to Valder in his Larry Graham voice. The turning point came quickly. After a few weeks of his calls and her letters, he phoned and sang Stevie Wonder's "I Just Called to Say I Love You." Then he confessed, "I can't live without you." 

And he meant it. Today, their love still burns strong. James and Valder have been married 23 years and have four children, and are still enjoying an incredible love affair and friendship.

The Beebe’s state “we want everyone who desire to have a chance for love to experience the joy that we have through our love-affair.”
