(L-R) Cruiz N Style Michael Wren- CEO/Founder, Carrie Mae Hunt- Senior Director of Promotions for Texas Bus Group and Cruiz N Style and Founder of Texas Bus Group- Phillip Purdie |
Throughout the Dallas/Ft.Worth area, families have struggled with traveling back and forth to visit loved ones who are incarcerated and now that the gas prices have increase it makes it more difficult to visit with them regularly. Michael Wren, CEO/Founder of Cruiz N Style has a solution. His vision to provide transportation for these families developed a few years ago but today that vision has breathe life.
“God gave me this vision long before I started developing it and I told my mother about and she thought it was a wonderful idea,” said Mr. Wren. “I just needed someone else who could see my vision.”
That person was Phillip Purdie, Founder of Texas Bus Group and new co-partner.
When asked why he felt the need to help he said, “We had a few empty buses that were not being used so when Michael talked to me about what he was doing, I saw it as a great thing,” said Mr. Purdie.
Now behind every great man there is an even greater woman and that woman is none other then Carrie Mae Hunt, who is the Senior Director of Promotions for both Cruiz N Style and Texas Bus Group and so happens to be the mother of Mr. Wren.
“My son and I are members of the Potter’s House and when we told our pastor about this ministry he thought it was wonderful and since then we have passed out flyers and talked to different people about the transportation that is available,” said Ms. Hunt. “I have worked for Channel 11 for many years and I have been a school teacher so I saw the need for helping people in the community. Most people have at least one loved one that they would want to visit and we have provided a way for them to do just that.”
Mr. Wren agreed. “We have buses that will go out to the prison facilities on Saturday and Sunday, but we have to let the facility know how many people are coming on Friday,” said Mr. Wren. “The price for the trip is $90.00 but we are only asking that people pay $60.00 and we will cover the rest. This fee also includes snacks that will be provided on the bus.”
What makes this so unique is that it has not been done here in Dallas/Ft.Worth and it is very inexpensive. The price of gas from Dallas to Huntsville costs more than $60.00.
“We want to help people and put a smile on their faces,” said Mr. Wren. “Providing transportation for these families is priceless.”
Mr. Wren also provides transportation for those interested in being picked up for doctor appointments as well as other services.
