One of gospel music’s biggest success stories of the last few years has been the meteoric rise of former football player Troy Sneed’s Emtro Gospel label which has placed almost a dozen songs by the likes of Sneed and Alvin Darling on the upper reaches of the Billboard gospel charts in the last five years.  Sneed was even named one of the Top 3 Gospel Producers in 2007 by Billboard magazine. Now, Sneed is expanding.

Sneed’s new label, T Records, run by his son, Troy “TJ” Sneed Jr., is  making waves already.  One of the label’s new artists, Supreme 7, a Philadelphia-based quartet, is heating up the charts already with their debut single “Another Yes” which was one of the most added songs at gospel radio last week, according to Radio & Records magazine.

“It’s really amazing,” says Troy Sneed. “We just sent the song to radio a week ago and to be getting this kind of response already is really encouraging.” The group’s T Records CD debut Another Yes will be released May 6, 2008.

Since its 2003 debut, Emtro Gospel has astounded the gospel music
industry by placing an amazing ten songs in the Top 20 on Billboard’s
Hot Gospel chart within three years - including Youth for Christ’s
Stellar-award winning smash “The Struggle is Over” which remained #1
for a dozen weeks. The Jacksonville, Florida-based Emtro Gospel label
boasts hit-making artists such as Sneed, Alvin Darling & Celebration,
L. Spenser Smith, Pastor Rudolph McKissick, Youth for Christ, Bishop
Bruce Parham and the Wilmington-Chester Mass Choir. T Records is
gearing up for a similar track record as its sister label with the new
Supreme 7 project and forthcoming projects by the Arkansas Gospel Mass Choir and Gerald Levert’s former background vocalist, Coco McMillan.
