A member of the legendary Clark Sisters, Dorinda Clark-Cole, has a message of her own with her third solo release, “Take It Back,” on Zomba Records.
Meanwhile, Dorinda and her sisters' latest project is “Live: One Last Time” on EMI Gospel and the album is doing well. It has received numerous nominations.
“Take It Back” sets a different tone. It is mixed with traditional and contemporary Gospel music. The title track serves as the theme of the project. The song itself is rooted in the church and traditional Gospel tunes.
The album has guest appearances by her daughter and two nieces (one of whom is urban Gospel artist KiKi Sheard) on the urban contemporary track “It’s Okay.” Another track, “Turn It Around,” was written by John P. Kee, who also contributes some vocals.
The album is completely hot and a must-have but is expected from the legendary gospel singer. She has helped save souls through her music for many years and she shows no signs of slowing down.
Dorinda Clark Cole was designed for greatness from the time that she was born. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, she found fame as a member of the world renowned gospel singing group The Clark Sisters. Her mother, the late Dr. Mattie Moss Clark was a gospel music pioneer in her own right whose accomplishments included receiving three gold records, being the first person to ever record a choir, serving as President of the Music department of the Church of God in Christ for over 25 years and being instrumental in influencing the sound of gospel music to becoming what it is today.
