On Saturday May 3, The Women of Destiny hosted their first annual Mother Daughter Evening Tea at the Ramada Hotel in Duncanville. This event was held for all mothers and daughters to come together and share an evening filled with praise, worship, entertainment, and food for the mind, body and soul. The theme of the evening was “Cherished Memories—Prov. 31:28.” The purpose of the event was for mothers and daughters in attendance to gain a sense of fellowship with one another and mend their broken relationships.
As the mother’s and daughters bonded and reminisced they left the hotel encouraged by Kimberly Yancy (Mikasenoja), first lady of New Hope Bible Baptist Church in LaMarque, Texas who enlightened the mothers to “Pass on the Legacy” to their daughters. The mothers and their daughters, laughed, cried, and prayed together and it was evident that they had been touched in some aspect. The night was truly filled with inspiration and hope for tomorrow.
The Women of Destiny is a free spirit ministry that was founded in 1999 by Evangelist LaVaonda Moore. The organization is made up of women of multi-churches citywide who were inspired to share the love of Christ with other women and uplift their hearts through a sense of encouragement and love. The Women of Destiny meet every Thursday at 7:00pm.m at the Ramada in Duncanville. Their door is always open to any woman young or old who wants to share any situation on her heart to other godly women who are willing to listen and offer support.
In addition to the Mother Daughter Tea, Women of Destiny also host clothing drives, visit the elderly, and host family and friends day.
