Hamilton Park United Methodist Church welcomed Tamela Mann with opened arms on Saturday, May 10th. The night began with selections from the HPUMC Choir accompanied by dramatic dance from their dance team. The crowd was taken back when the choir belted “Oh Mary Don’t You Weep,” every member in the audience was standing to their feet, clapping, shouting, and singing along. The show didn’t stop there; there were a few witnesses in the house who wanted to share the goodness of God. There were testimonies shared from those who were delivered from cancer, drug addiction, and a survivor of a massive heart attack. The spirit of God was truly present.
Before making her stage appearance Ms. Mann was introduced by one we all know, “Mr. Brown (David Mann),” the crowd was literally on the edge of their seats when he appeared in his bright yellow shirt with red suspenders, lime green polka dot trousers and paten yellow shoes. It was truly a sight to see.
“Don’t I look good ya’ll, do you know that God delivered me from Type 2 diabetes,” he said. There were shouts and praises when he shared his testimony as well.
“I was surprised to see Mr. Brown, this was a great event and I’ m glad I came said Greg Cummings after listening to Mr. Mann.
The event was advertised as a concert but the church was on fire for the Lord. . Ms. Mann performed seven songs two of which were not from her album. “I know that most of you know me from the Tyler Perry stage plays and from the big screen as Cora, but tonight I’m just glad to be here and be myself, just Tamela, she said. She was truly herself; there was no glitz and glamour just genuine worship.
People left the show in tears. The tears were all from complete happiness at the outcome of the event.
“This was truly a blessing”, said Mariah Johnson. A blessing to all, Tamela Mann rocked the house!
