FASHION AND HAIR EXPO REVEALS THAT BEAUTY STARTS INSIDE AND SHINES OUTSIDE

The models shined on the runway during the Fashion and Hair Expo at the Dallas Plaza Hotel on Sunday. From their edgy hair to stylist garments, this was one affair that showcased the best of the best here in Dallas. Presented by LaGlynn Gray of Regent Management, the show was a complete success.

When asked why this expo was important, LaGlynn said,” many stylists who attended previous shows approached me and they asked that I assist them with a hair and fashion show. “Anytime I can help other entrepreneurs, I jump on the opportunity. This show gives local stylist and designers a chance to showcase their talents and to build up their clientele.”

Hosted by Sir Bobby and Donnetta Graves of DIVA Style Ink Salon, the duo brought laughter and sophistication to the show as they introduced some of the hottest looks. The show was unique, not only did the guess enjoy some of the latest fashions but also they were able to check out vendors and an art exhibit. Beauty came in all forms, all shapes and all sizes.

“Everyone is a DIVA,” said Donnetta Graves, founder of DIVA Style Ink Salon. “DIVA is someone who carries themselves with respect and style, it is something that is felt first in the inside.”

For 16 years Donnetta has been in the hair and fashion industry. Her newest addition is the DIVA Scents, candles and oils that offer a variety of fragrances but hair is her first love.

“I have been doing hair since I was age 12 or 13 years old so it has always been a passion of mine and when I became a mother at age 15, it became a means of me surviving,” she said.

She also thanks God for blessing her with this talent.

“I take the creative things inside of me and I bring it out in my designs,” said Donnetta. “I am a perfectionist so I take pride in everything I do. I also understand that many women want to achieve that trendy look but their hair is harmed in the process. I am all about maintaining healthy hair but with a trendy flair.”

Other stylist included De Dee, JB, Evee and Marvel of Eccentric Elegance, a full service salon and barbershop specializing in the latest trends in hair care for women and men. Also, representatives of The House of Beauty and Spirits were there. For three years the designer boutique has specialized in designing clothing, shoes, wigs, handbags and makeup for the modern woman. Lastly, but not least, James Randall of Phase 3 Studio displayed his artwork. His work ranged from all types of images.

“I enjoy creating images that match interiors of homes and offices because I want people to focus on a variety of ideas because my work is universal,” said Randall. “When people see my art I want them to bring their own visions of what they see. I want them to use the gifts God gave them to appreciate the gift God has given me. My work is something that will last throughout the years.”

Another component of the show was the entertainment brought on by vocalist Sherna, poets B. Randall, Queen Marisette and Troy. Even the performers talked about the importance of loving whom you are from within. The show ended with all the models coming out for the finale and the attendees were pleased. According to LaGlynn, there is more in-store.
