DRESS FOR SUCCESS

Forging change-pushing for consistant positive change in our behavior can be a little tough on some of us. We all know that having the fundamental desire to change is paramount for change to occur. The desire to remain in our current mindset and state of affairs must dissipate for real change to take place. Come with me, let’s turn ourselves upside down and empty out. Then seek wisdom to allow God abundance to refill our life. “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Eph 2:10 NIV Please allow me to use the weather as an analogy. As the seasons change we adopt by changing the clothes we wear. We put on less and lighter clothing during the spring and summer then we move to heavier clothing during the fall and winter. In contrast, in order to journey closer toward your (our) aspirations, we must first recognize and embrace our desired and needed season change. Know that we have entered our season of enlarged territory!  Now, let’s dress in the appropriate attire: Method, Execution, Determined and Discipline. Review our life methods our procedure, technique, our planned way of doing something. Next, examine our executions that help us to carry out tasks, accomplish and perform. Are we determined; resolute and unwavering? What about our discipline; training to act in accordance to rules; a regimen that develops or improves our skill? And now, “Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; someone else, and not your own lips” Prov.27:2 This attire will create cover from the heat of every day living, Provide protection from harsh winds that blow from naysayers and provide an unbreakable barrier during the storms of life.  Our next step is to become comfortable in our new attire. This is important. If we are not comfortable, perhaps the clothing does not seem to fit. We might just put on the old ones because they are well-worn and feel so go.  Therefore, the old outfits of fear, limitation, and procrastination, the over worn garments of low self esteem and too little confidence, must be burned, immediately. So that they can never been worn again.  When I started writing this column, I was sitting in my study surrounded by papers on the floor, un-opened bills, binders, ledgers, newspapers, various documents and most forms of paper debris encompassed me.  Orderliness, punctuality, financial fitness, and a defined sense of self are in my closet ready to be worn. Look within your closet to discover your new wardrobe but if your closet is filled with only out-dated outfits, it’s time to go shopping!  Pray for me as I pray for you! “I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you…” 3 John 1:2  Caesar 07/09/09 Caesar@dallasgospelconnection.com
