See all Hallelujahs By Tiffany Jackson
August is coming up and I cannot help but reflect back on Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans and how thousands lost everything they owned in the blink of an eye. Not only did many re-locate and migrate to both the southern and northern regions of America but their entire life had to change. They were forced to start over from ground zero and to make the best of their situation.
Today, three years later some are still finding it hard to survive, so what do you do when turbulent situations rise in your life? What do you do when you have to make something out of nothing? What do you do when it seems that no one else can help turn your situation around? The answer is Christ. Jesus is the only one who can turn the impossible into the possible. He is the only one who can make a way out of no way. He is the only one who can raise the dead and heal the sick, feed the hungry in a starving land. He is the Son of God, a.k.a. “The Way Maker.” I dare you to try him.
I have heard stories from both celebrities and every day Sally’s and Joes’s who have either lived in hotels for months or out of their cars when they were thrown a wrench into their lives. They have said that they leaned and depended on God to re-build their lives. I cannot say that I myself have lost everything but I will say this—I have had to do some thing differently in my life when the storm was raging. I had to put everything into the Master’s hand. And you should too. Don’t give up, don’t’ give in, keep on going because when God is in front of you, behind you and on the side of you, you can start over.
May God Bless And Keep You,
