Focus on What is Right
by Tanisha Griffin
What are you focusing on? Is it all the times someone has hurt you? Do you remember every evil done to you that you do not feel satisfied until you get revenge? Is there a constant worry in your spirit about what else could go wrong? If you have answered yes to these questions, how about changing your focus to what is RIGHT in your life.
I was listening to a sermon on TV the other day that said this very thing and it spoke to my spirit. A lot of us spend so much time worrying and complaining about what we feel is going wrong in our lives that we fail to take inventory of what is going right. Here are a few things that I think we all could agree on…Number one, you are alive! Two, you have a place to sleep – it may not be your own place but if you are reading this, then I am sure you are not sleeping on the street. Three, you have your health; if you disagree with that, go back and read point number one! Four, you have children – they may not be biologically yours, but you have been a parent to someone. Five, you have a mate (I didn’t say they wouldn’t get on your nerves from time to time).
Essentially, you have so much to be grateful for so why are you focusing only on what’s going wrong. And who’s to say what is taking place in your life is not orchestrated by God. He allows certain things to happen in order to get our attention and move us in the direction that needs growth. Tune in to what He may be trying to get you to see. I don’t feel this should warrant a long letter, but just a little nudge to tell you to “FOCUS ON WHAT IS RIGHT!”
That's how I see it. How do you see it? Email your comments to tgriffin@dallasgospelconnection.com
