HUMBLE YOURSELF

by Tanisha Griffin

Having troubles?  Not sure why things are going the way they are?  You may need to humble yourself.  You are not necessarily the one at fault, but by humbling yourself you take control of the situation and are able to manage your emotions.

Read Deuteronomy 8:2-3, it basically is saying God causes certain situations in our lives to arise all for the purpose of humbling us.  Your experience may be a test to prove whether you will do the right thing.  God knows the secret things of our heart. You may be suffering persecution on your job, without enough money to pay your bills, or don’t have the food in your refrigerator that you desire to eat, but God wants to show us that he has ultimate control, but it’s up to us to trust him.

When we are hungry, he feeds us.  When we are lonely, he comforts us. Through all of the tests and trials we face at the end of the day, will you trust him to meet the need?  Will you humble yourself enough to change your attitude about the situation and say “Lord not my will, but your will?”  If not, you just may become like the children of Israel and remain in that wilderness for forty years because you refuse to change.

Why not change?  You’ve done things your way this long and where has that gotten you?  Nowhere but where you are now.  Humble yourself!  Take direction from others; you don’t have all the answers.  Do things a different way and see if you will get different results.  You may have to change the way you talk.  You may have to change the way you look.  You may have to change the way you live.  So what!  You have a purpose and a destiny.  Would you rather continue with the way things are now because you refuse to give up your will?  I don’t think you do.  Humble yourself and avoid the wrath of God. (2 Chronicles 2:12)

In Love,

Tanisha
