See all Hallelujahs By Tiffany Jackson
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually who are you not to be?
These words from poet Marianne Williams are powerful and true. Fear stops man from doing many things in life. Sometimes it is the fear of the unknown or the fear that the outcome might be successful but as God’s children we should not be afraid because we were born to manifest the glory of God therefore; the ready made light within us is designed to shine so all the world can see.
I must say that I have been guilty of holding back and waiting until I felt that it was the right time to make a big career decision or a new investment but no day is better than today so I should not be consumed with fear. Fear is not of God. 2 Timothy 1:7 says, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” Isaiah 41:10 also says, “Fear thou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed; for I [am] thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
So with us knowing that God is with us, it is important to let go and let Him do what He does best. We will then begin to see things move in our lives. God wants us to be the best we can be but He wants us to keep Him first. We must be liberated from our own fear so that others can see our light. Think about it like this, when you have a light bulb that’s been inside of a lamp for a while it might start blinking off and on as a indication that it is going out, as children of God, we must not be like an old light bulb, it is important that we shine all the time. It does not take a t-shirt that reads, “I am a child of God” for people to see God in us. It should be revealed in the way we treat our fellow brother or how we carry ourselves and in the way we love.
So my beautiful sisters and brothers, be not afraid, God has your back and when God has your back, anything that you set out to do will flourish like the green grass.
May God Bless And Keep You,
